Hi - I own 2008 ES 350 - audio in my car have stopped working.
In diagnostics code AMP shows ok but Radio shows NCON

i have checked driver side and passenger side audio & Radio fuses , all seems okay to me.

My Observations
1. All buttons on radio components are not working and illuminating
2. My both visor lights have stopped working , other car interior lights are working fine.

attaching few screenshots- can you pls guide what shall I do to fix it?

these may be useful but .. when you say no audio, just no radio or no sound from dvd or nav either

Hi -
Whole radio component buttons stopped working and no sound as well.
Only time sound comes when my phone is connected to Bluetooth and I got phone call. Then front speaker - driver side sound is coming.

I have checked all fuses and don’t find anything wrong.

Another interesting point to make - both sun visor lights are not working as well.

my main pain point is sound is not working.

out of curiosity is the cigar lighter or 12v power outlet working (same cct as radio power on a relay)

Hello -

cigarette lighter doesn’t work , I checked it’s fuse it is okay. This has not been working for years , I never paid attention to it as audio was working.

power outlet - in center console - under armrest - this does work.

Summary
1. Radio / Sound does not work - happened recently
2. Sun Visor - both lights does not work - happened recently
3. Cigarette lighter does not work - years back
4. Power outlet - under arm rest - 12 V - this does work

any dtc codes ? did you check the fuses physically or rely on the nav display? you may have to get to the backside to ck but it looks like its relatively easy to remove the radio assy.

I physically viewed fuses and checked resistance using digital meter - it’s making sound on all of below fuses

engine compartment -
22 and 23 - Audio System
25 - Radio 1
driver side
26 - Cigarette
27 - Power Outlet
28 - Radio 2

i have uploaded few more pics the codes that I see on display.
Audio I don’t see any code as it’s saying NCON and this is not clickable.
EMV and nav codes are shared in photos.

Can you pls suggest next steps?

lots of info there. the code components they refer to are
110 multi display
440 stereo amp
190 radio
178 nav ecu

seem to be more issues than just radio; will have to digest info for a bit


also for the chek etc they say

(1) If the check result is "EXCH", "CHEK" or "Old", touch the displayed
check result to view the results on the "Unit Check Mode" screen
and record them.

Navigation never works properly for quite years , I updated new maps CD - after market eBay but even after calibration its keep loosing current position.

No sound is new problem in this car along with visor light are not working.

if you can help me what else I need to do , I can do it and share with you.

navigation was never a concern as I always use my phone for maps. As display and touch works smoothly hence I never paid attention to not working navigation.

sorry i cant find any info on the end parts of the subcode eg 21F of the diagnostic code eg 01-D5-190-21F; maybe ask the dealer what the full subcodes refer to and it could provide some further clues. i suspect you will need to bite the bullet and remove the radio assy and check out the harness.

Thanks for all help.

Eventually it was radio that was bad , I just replaced it and audio is back.

GPS also worked now as GPS Aetna wire was not connected.

cigarette lighter socket also works , it’s wire was loose.

finally everything works like original.

radio , I took from eBay / trusted seller- no code is required - it’s simple replacement.
