A friend of mine made me noticed that the gas tank on my 2007 ES350 is leaking. I spent hours and hours looking for a gas tank on the internet (rockauto, ebay, amazon etc etc), I also called many parts stores/scrapyards and I can't find any.
I found someone who's selling a gas tank from a Camry. I called him and asked him if it will fit on my 2007 ES350. He went to check, came back after few seconds and told me it will fit and he's 100% sure. I'm a bit skeptical because I found the exact Camry tank on ebay, and when I put the entry of my car, it says:
'This part is not compatible with this 2007 Lexus ES350 Base Sedan 4-Door 3.5L 3456CC V6 GAS DOHC Naturally Aspirated.'
I don't know what to think about this. can someone please help me? I would really appreciate it. Thanks a lot.
Call a local junkyard and ask for one for your car and then ask if a Camry one would fit. They have access to the Hollander Database which tells them what parts fit what other vehicles.

Hello. Thanks a lot for your answer. I called many junkyards and non of them have a tank that fits on a 2007 Lexus ES350. One person told me a 2006 Camry fuel tank will fit. I guess I will go get one at Jarry autoparts and will give it a try. I'm looking on the website Jim from Austin sent me. Thanks again. I will share the information.
Thanks a lot Jim. I had to dig a bit on the internet but I found the same websites that you sent me. I bought a tank for Camry since it has the same SKU code.
I also bought a belt kit for 2007 ES350. I have a friend who can get parts for cheaper since he sends many customers in this store. Anyways, I have an appointment to a garage tomorrow afternoon. When the job will be done I will confirm it's the right tank. I don't see why it would not fit. Thanks again. I appreciate it.
Hi all. The mechanic called me and that tank fits.
Conclusion: If you guys have a 2004 to 2012 Lexus ES350 and need to replace the fuel tank, get one for a Camry.
Part Number: 7700106112

( It's not something we wear around our neck so don't buy it from Toyota nor Lexus. They charge much more as you can see. Auto part stores should have one for much cheaper). Rockauto for example, have 2 different models. One at $235 CAD and one from Spectra at $303.
Thanks a lot to Clutchless and w84me. You have no idea how I appreciate your help guys. Please be safe on the road. And when contemptuous people like LjeksesES writes something like 'it doesn't fit' with no details nor any explanation, think again cuz it might be a troll.
No, I’m not a troll, I just run the part number and the program says it is not compatible with Camry or Avalon.
These are the part numbers for 2007 ES350:
and it fits on ES350 only:
They can be physically the same but there is a difference. Maybe the built quality is different, maybe the thickness is different...
I recommend going to the source directly. One thing some old guys have taught me is that auto manufactures will use similar parts across the line where possible for cost effectiveness. even if it is more expensive to make the part, its still cheaper to have one SKU sometimes. multiple SKU's create tracking problems, installation problems, warranty, ect, all of that can add up to more costs. use one sku when possible across as many models as possible.
I clicked on "ALSO PURCHASED" and look what it says:

So I bought that Camry with a new pair of straps and took a honest mechanic. The man told me: If it doesn't fit, I will have to charge you $300 for the job. I said: That's fair. I take the risk GO! He called me back the next day and said it worked.
After that, just for fun I called the Lexus dealer and asked to speak with someone from the parts department. I asked the scroccone if they have a tank for a 2007 Lexus ES350. He said: "Let me check.. Ho yes there's one in Toronto. I can order it for you. It's $947 (+15% tax). You want it?" I said: " Mhhe that's expensive. Do you think a fuel tank for Camry would fit?" He said: " HOO BOY! You gotta check the part number. I don't know!" He works there since ages but HE DOESNT KNOW. Trust me.. IT FITS! This part is also available on rockauto for a fraction of the price that Toyota is asking on their website ($685.22). Thanks again.
