What is the small speaker looking thing behind the back seat

i just bought a used ES 350 2008 and found a small speaker looking thing behind the back seat. It also has a adjustment **** on one side. I cannot understand what is it for. Does anyone here know. There's a picture attached for reference.

2010 ES 350. I don't have that. Appears to be an aftermarket addition, perhaps for an aftermarket sound system? Definitely not OEM. And if it is, then it's not where it should be. See if you can find where the wire is leading to (in the trunk, possibly behind the carpeting)
Does this car have aftermarket parking sensors, dime sized round units in the rear bumper cover?
Color keyed and front and rear if factory, likely black and rear only if aftermarket. This speaker
appears to be the audible alert for the system. Any dials or switches perhaps by the trunk release?
