Default A/C 21 24 41 46 2008 es350

History of problem:
AC started blowing inconsistently, changing speeds, and as the problem worsened, would stop blowing at all for a time, then start again. The problem grew progressively worse. I took the motor out, checked the wiring, no issues, put it back in, it worked. Ran onboard diagnostics, no codes. A few days later the problem returned and eventually the blower stopped working entirely.

I changed the motor and ran the onboard diagnostics. After changing the motor, the system worked perfectly, no errors, until the next day. It never worked again.

I replaced the amplifier with a used one found online, supposedly fully tested. No change. I did not run diagnostics while it didn't work until now. 21 24 41 46 Tested in full sun.

What can I do to determine where the problem lies? It's starting to warm up a bit down here in Mississippi.

I've read elsewhere in the forum that failing solar sensors can cause intermittent blower operation. I probably would have replaced the solar sensor by now, just to throw parts at it, but I haven't the foggiest idea where it is or how to get at it. If someone could tell me how to diagnose this with a multimeter, I'd be grateful.

Jim

Jim - don't have much experience with our A/C systems, but did some work on an older 99 model. there are probably several sensors running your system. is it fully automatic type? There is at least one sensor outside the car that determines outside ambient temp. you can see if it seems to be working by looking at the reading. keep an eye on it, it may be intermittent.

there is also at least one cabin temp sensor - maybe 2 if you have dual zone climate control.

you can sort of confirm this sort of stuff by looking at the parts diagram, but an electrical wiring diagram may need to come into play

if your a/c is actually working, you should feel SOME coldness somewhere. If you are certain your blower is not working - try it on heat setting and see if it works. a few things to try..... from what I understand reading your post, your blower is not working. if it doesnt work on heat setting, or some max condition sounds like some sort of wiring/fuse problem.
