Winding cranking sound after ignition ?
I hear some cranking noise sometimes after startup ? Any idea what this might be. I’m guessing fly wheel or soemthing? It’s intermittent

Sometimes, the starter motor may not quickly disengage from the flywheel when the engine starts. You may hear the sound of the gears still meshed with the flywheel gears for a short time after the engine is running. If that what it is, it's not good, as the starter motor gears are still engaged with the flywheel gears when they shouldn't be. Do not rev the engine. If it doesn't last long, it may not cause any significant damage, but it may be indicative of a starter failure down the road.

How many miles. If very high milage then it is a good idea to check the chain tensioner. Might be the chain getting a little loose and sometimes changing the chain tensioner help.

It’s kind of hard to explain. Sometimes people who are with me hear it and say what’s that sounds like starter issue. It’s after the ignition noise there’s a winding robotic turning noise I’ll try and record it one day it’s just so intermittent

I used to own es300 ( my pic logo) and I sold it at 240K. No issue with it. The transmission and engine were still running smooth. I bought it at 97K miles and sold it at 240 K miles. I regret selling it. Very sold engine and AT.
