Not possible. I already knew about the key not detected problem long before I tried the Carista app.

speaking of which. I can recommend the Carista dongle and app. It is haughty capable with a good user interface. The first month is free so you can customize several aspects of the lighting and locks etc without having to subscribe to the monthly service. It will continue to work as a reader after that.

Perhaps I’ll try but I don’t want to pay them for this.
I'm reluctant to go to the dealer myself, but I also have most of the tools and equipments to do my own repair. When you pay a professional you're paying for years of their experience and all the equipment they had to invest in to get to that level. So if it doesn't work out you should consider their 1 hour flat rate fee to save yourself the headache. As the story goes, it's all about knowing where to hit the hammer...

nevernu, that's a really good point. We don't know how the 3rd party Carista scanner is able to achieve the door lock settings if the dealer couldn't get it done with Toyota Techstream.
Mike, do you remember when this issue began? By any chance did it start after personalizing the door lock settings?

I noticed the issue long before I scanned with the Carista. Interestingly, I went to the dealer today to demonstrate the problem AND I COULDN'T DUPLICATE IT ARRRRGH!
So typical.

As for how Carista interacts with the cars computers, I can’t see how that would be a factor. It’s literally just a different interface to change a 0 to a 1. It’s not brain surgery.

I think the issues could be related to the installation of the Grom Vline2. It’s a Bluetooth device that could be causing some interference. That or the wireless charger cup holder style phone holder. That also might be radiating some dirty RF. I guess I can live with it as long as I can get it to stop by waving the key fob near the dash.
