Hello everyone!
I wanted to ask you a question... So, I own a 2011 Lexus ES 350, it is an absolute amazing car!! However, when I press down the brake pedal around the 0mph~5mph, I hear what seems to be a grinding noise. This happens when the car is slowing down or very close to a complete stop. (I never hear the grinding noise when I am braking at higher speeds). When I went to an auto shop, to inspect my brakes, they said that the brake pads/rotors look completely fine! I was wondering if you had ever encountered an issue like this. Thank you for taking the time to read this message! Really appreciate everything you do for the toyota/lexus community! Thank you!!

So every time I wash my car, my rotors get a layer of rust spots and for the first couple times I brake, it gets a bit squeaky. Are you in an area of high humidity? Been raining? Maybe worth taking a look at.

Your pads may be fine. However the brake caliper slide pins may be sticking due to lack of maintenance and causing your brake calipers to not move as freely or float, and this may be your noise source.
A brake service would involve removing and cleaning, then lubricating the brake caliper slide pins. There are 2 on each caliper. This would take a pro less than an hour to service the car. It is one of the most neglected parts of brake systems but should be done every couple of years as the grease wears out over time.
