Aftermarket Radio Purchase?
Greetings fellow Lexus owners, i am seeking assistance finding an aftermarket radio for my 2009 Lexus ES 350. I tried CRUTCHFIELD’S, but they were a no go. It appears they only have radios and kits that worked with the Mark Levinson stereo package, with GPS.
I have GPS, but a regular radio.
The existing radio works fine, but I only have AM/FM and CD. No bluetooth capability. (Actually, i do have Bluetooth installed with this radio, but it only allows me to answer / talk utilizing the car’s system—— It won’t allow me to play music from my phone through the system, which I thought was odd )
Really would be nice to find a aftermarket radio with GPS and DVD…

It appears you do not have Navigation since you said you lack GPS. That greatly limits or eliminates any aftermarket choices. The problem is the radio is integrated with the rest of the cars HVAC and other controls and built into the dash design.
You can try a search here using the term Radio as a few have installed the Grom Vine etc with mixed results, but those were on vehicles with Navigation.
If it is that important you may need to change cars to get those features.

No sir. Maybe I misspoke / mistyped. It appears that Lexus built (2) two different versions.
One with the Mark Levinson radio with GPS, and another, with a standard radio (CD AM/FM) and GPS.

there aren’t a lot of options unless you upgrade to navigation, but even then you won’t get dvd. There is the android/Tesla option, also with mixed reviews. Biggest issue is that you have to get a different reverse camera and can’t plug into the systems reverse, but you don’t have navigation so that wouldn’t be an issue and even an upgrade for you, and it’s a 10 inch screen. It’s around $600 and customer support is lacking heavily, but you can google around and find things about it on this forum.
for my Bluetooth, I just use a transmitter that plugs into auxiliary input in the center console. That way it’s not playing through a radio station and gets much better quality reception. It’s like plugging directly into aux. however phone calls don’t work with it being in center console, you have to open console and talk towards it for phone calls. I just use it for music though.
here’s link for transmitter, check the reviews:
