Fuel Filter Replacement
My 2010 ES350 has 284,000 miles on it and it still looks almost new! I do not have the records to know if and when the fuel filter was replaced, so I figured it would be a good precaution to replace the fuel filter. I checked YouTube and the only thing I could find was a video showing replacing the entire fuel pump/fuel gauge sending unit with the filter. Is this the only fuel filter in my car? I've changed fuel pumps and remember there was a sock around the pick up and I'm assuming that is the filter. I find it hard to believe an engineer would design a car putting the only fuel filter in the fuel tank, rather than on the gas line under the car where it could be easily accessed. I would expect that kind of knucklehead engineer at Ford, but not at Toyota/Lexus. Is there a fuel filter under the car that I can change and/or is there one in the fuel tank that is part of the fuel pump assembly with the fuel gauge sending unit included as part of the assembly? They sure don't build these cars to be easily serviced when you have to pull the intake manifold to change spark plugs and coil packs. I'd greatly appreciate a response.
Thanks,
Neil

I changed mine and wrote here about that. You can find my topic which is related to it.

Yes. Unless you have a specific problem there is no fuel filter to replace or worry about. Under the hood filters were eliminated because honestly they are not needed.
