Default Max tire size without changing wheels

I have Lexus ES350 2010 with 215/55-17 as standard tire size. Tirerack also shows the following optional tire sizes:
  • 16" 215/60-16
  • 18" 225/45-18
  • 19" 225/40-19
I currently have 235/60R17 installed and need new tires.

My questions:
1. What is the max size I can install without changing wheels on this Lexus? My main aim is to have a quieter ride and also excellent traction in dry and wet conditions.
2. What are the pros and cons of installing a larger tire size than 215/55-17?
3. What tire brand and model will you recommend for this Lexus for Texas weather? I do drive a lot. in excess of 25-30k miles per year.
4. Other than usual Tirerack, Costco, Walmart, Discount Tires, any other sites you would recommend for tires?

I will appreciate your guidance.

A larger tire will throw off your speedometer and possibly other problems such as:

A taller overall tire can rub on the wheel well or suspension if it's incorrectly matched with the wheel and vehicle. An oversized tire can significantly decrease the turning radius of your vehicle. Wider tires can hydroplane more easily on wet surfaces.
Additionally, larger tires weigh down the wheel assembly — which may affect fuel economy and place unnecessary stress on the powertrain and brakes. If planned or installed incorrectly, up-sized tires may also rub the wheel well, brake calipers, or vehicle frame, potentially wearing down any parts they grind against.

A new better quality tire in the proper size will go a long way to provide a quieter ride and better traction. You should search on Tire Rack and read their tire tests and consumer ratings to help select a tire for your conditions. Possibly a Touring or Grand Touring All Season tire. Enter your vehicle model and year and it will show the best matches and most popular tires.

Then I recommend you call Tire Rack once you have selected a few potential replacement tires and get their opinions. Since you drive so much a year I think a high tread life tire would be very important.
You have listed most of the tire sites. I prefer Tire Rack or Costco. I think Walmart carries a lesser quality tire to meet a price point.

Depending on the number of miles on your car you may be in need of replacement struts to improve your ride and handling.

Thanks!

I have Goodyear Assurance MaxLife on my car now and they need to be changed.
Pirelli P4 Four Seasons Plus is very cheap- what do you all say about these tires for Lexus ES350 2010 Model.

They should be just fine and at that price I would get them.
