Default Torque strut motor mount wish bone

Do I need to remove the brake lines to replace this mount ? I just need a 14 socket right ? Some people say I need to remove brake lines and or the power steering reservoir. I’m trying to do it simply. Thanks guys 08

I just did this the other day. What I did was loosen the two bolts (2x 10mm one on each side) on the side of the ABS unit so I could lift it off of the bracket and pull it forward and get that one stubborn brake line out of the way (in my case this was easier said than done). After a good bit of fighting and tugging with the ABS unit, while still being relatively careful with it, I was able to squeeze the bolt fort the mount out. You may have to apply a bit of pressure to the one brake line to actually get the mount bolt out as I did.

Part Number:

12363-0P141. Get OEM. See my last picture.

Here the bolt that goes into the block is pretty long and won’t clear that one brake line.

Loosen these, lift the unit up and pull forward until you can manage to get the motor mount bolt out.

Don’t be cheap like me, I bought my mount on eBay for $30 and it already cracked. It’s only been like 2-3 weeks since I got it. Now I gotta buy the OEM part and do this again.

Are you sure the other motor mounts aren't also going bad giving the motor more movement than usual which in turn caused your new one to fail prematurely? Im actually about to replace mine, as this post reminded me to check on the health of mine since i'm @160k now.

I see two round rubber pieces on front passenger side Engine Torque Strut Mount. They appear cracked, broken away from metal part.

However, OEM part suggested in this thread doesn’t show these round rubber pieces?

I also went to local Autozone and they have Duralast part but no rubber pieces.

My question is what part # gets me a complete assembly- mount + rubber pieces?

Passenger side engine torque strut mount. Arrows pointing to round rubber pieces.

OEM part not showing round rubber pieces

The rubber pieces that I have are from my original mount that came on the car from the factory. I just reused them. Not sure of the part number for them and I’m pretty positive they are not needed for the job. I’ve seen countless 2GR-FE’s without those rubber covers on that mount.

Then what is the point of changing just the metal part? Metal part in my Lexus is not broken.

It is not a problem if those rubber covers are worn out. It is more of a looks thing. I changed this mount with the OEM part which didn't come with those covers and I think it is better that way since those covers hide the fact that the actual mount is cracked.

What cracks and eventually separates are the rubber interior donuts inside the round holes at each end of the mount. The thin dust shields are more of a cosmetic appearance and have nothing to do with performance of the mount.
