Need to verify key-lock is connected to lock actuator

Lexus ES350, 2013: Manual unlock with key does not work. How can I verify that the key-lock is connected to the lock actuator (front left door/driver door). Thank you.

Take the inner door panel off.

If need be cut the plastic and see the door lock mechanism.
