2014 ES-350 time to update GPS

Buy a Garmin or sync with your cell and use WAZE, Google Maps, Apple Maps, or some other app. Updating the 2014 maps is expen$ive...they were quoting $540 in Canada! Probably around $320 in US?

I have a 2014 and updated every two years. The last was 2019 or 2020, I don't recall. Nonetheless, you can update to that ($170?) but that's the last update for the Gen 6 cars. I like the bigger screen of in-car navigation. As of late, however, we use Apple Maps on the iPhone and set it up against the screen--poor mans Apple CarPlay--but it works great. I have a Garmin I bought in 2010 with lifetime free updates. Use it in the Lexus, Corvette, Honda and Mazda. Pay once and always have the latest data. Even took it to Europe for driving in France, Germany, and Switzerland.

Why Garmin and not a cellphone? Google maps can be cashed if cellular data is not available (or use an app with offline maps, like Co-pilot GPS). Cellphone will give you live traffic and voice entry and much better quality interface.

A lifetime garmin (cheap as $199 for emergencies !) or Google maps (google traffic can't be beat) are both effective. I've found my stock 2017 Lexus GPS to be tricky to set an target address in, but it works OK once set.
