Default Passenger mirror cover replacement

So I seemed to manage to break the passenger mirror cover while parking out from the garage.

Can I replace only the mirror covers without taking it off of the door or I’d need to take the whole mirror assembly out by removing the door panel?

I think I would be able to pull the mirror out and unscrew the motor from housing, but not sure if that’s all and the new cover simply clips in. Or maybe better to say I am not sure, from the photos, if mirror and motor sit on some kind of inside plastic. Ah, I’m lost.

Thanks!

True, but all of the ones I found were about the whole mirror replacement. What I am asking if there's a way to use the parts from the picture below and replace it without taking the whole mirror off of the door.

Not necessarily identical to ES but should be pretty darn close. Watch them through the cover removal stage.

Hey, I feel for you. I did the same thing as have several others who've posted about this here.

See my write up in this post. See post #18 for the detailed write up. No need to remove any door panels. This can be done completely from outside.
