2015 Lexus ES300 Hybrid - Handling in Snow
Hello -
Hoping that someone out there can comment as to how the 2015 ES300 Hybrid FWD handles in the snow with all season tires? In reading some old posts, the take-away was that with all season tires, there can be some 'wheel spinning' when starting from a complete stop, which then locks up the traction. This problem seemed to be averted if the car had snow tires on. Hoping someone can tell me if I'm on the right track in reading the older posts. Also, when driving in snow with snow tires, should I take it out of Sport Mode?

When you start driving the car it is not in Sport mode. You should just leave it in its default mode and see how it goes. That said, sport mode in an ES doesn't really do much, except tighten the steering wheel and slightly change the pedal response. Since you're new to snow driving, get used to it first.

Put on some Blizzaks and use momentum as your friend (carefully of course) and you should have no problem. We have a 300h and live in the foothills of Denver. One must watch the speed, keep a safe distance from the car in front and with good snow tires it should be fine. The 300h is a heavy vehicle and is very stable in snow.
