Default plate sub-assy fuel replacement

My ES300H has over 60,000 miles on it and my dealer said it needs 60,000 miles maintenance.
Dealer says plate sub-assy, fuel (part number 77024-33142) needs to be replaced.
Is this really necessary at 60,000 miles?

nothing. they recommended to replace brake fluid+transmission fluid+ignition plug and fuel filter (including this) at 60k maintenance.

That's in the fuel tank why replace it? Maybe the part number is a mistake? Unless that part is being recalled or some other defect I would never go back to that dealer.

Toyota Lexus has major issues with certain model and fuel pump parts runs. Unless they tested the pump or you had a problem I would not replace it. Also ask them under the "Fuel Pump" recall is your Vin covered?

On the other things I always advise that a good rated Toyota dealers service dept can do the same services for give or take 35% less than Lexus.

  • Brake fluid - maybe
  • Transmission fluid - can easily wait till ~120k on eCVT (it's just gears splashing in oil, no clutches, no solenoids, all fluid is 100% replaced in one go). I have replaced mine at 120k and it looked good.
  • Spark plugs - can wait till 120k as recommended by Lexus
  • Fuel filter (including plate subassembly) - never needs replacing

I now have a good understanding of what the dealer told me.
Thanks to all who responded.

The fuel filter in the tank is good to be replaced but not before 100-120K. Just a waste of time and money.
