Transmission shifting to neutral
Hi All. I have a 2014 ES350 with 135k on her. I was driving it down the road when it went into neutral for some reason. Shocked by this, I looked down to see if I somehow bumped it out of gear (I didn’t) and when I looked back up the car in front of me stopped short and I unfortunately ran into an older Jeep that had the spare tire attached to the rear. I crumpled up the front section and the hood. I want to get the car repaired because it is paid for and not our main vehicle. My now long winded question is: has anybody heard of this issue with the 2014 transmission? I don’t want to get the car repaired if the transmission is on its way out. Thanks All.

The car value is ~$15k. I have never heard of U660E transmissions failing this way. Most like it was nothing - at worst you may need a new valve body (~$250) or the whole transmission (~$2k).
By the way - you can buy a painted hood and bumper cover for ~$1200 delivered (don't ask me how I know).
