This car makes the new GS look totally ugly (which it is).

The ES is a beauty. Hopefully they will put this front end on the GS in the LCI.

Why? Lexus has FINALLY made the GS a DIRECT competitor in the midsize luxury/executive sedan segment, not just a niche player. I'm sure Lexus will soon expand the GS range, and I think the 4GS will be able to maintain solid sales over its life cycle.

To be a serious worldwide luxury brand, Lexus NEEDS the GS, and frankly I don't see it going anywhere. The new ES will be bigger, more comfy/less sport, and much less agile than the 4GS. The GS F will only further differentiate that. The ES and GS will have more differentiation between each other than we have seen in a very long time.

Also, while the new ES interior is a big step up, it will still be one class below the amazing GS interior. This will be a much more noticeable differentiation than the 5ES and 3GS, which had interiors that were fairly close in terms of quality.

Actually, the "Camry" platform is known as the MC platform within Toyota, but it's no big deal .

Found my next loaner car instead of the CT200h. I wonder how the new ES looks with my wheels on it. Hmm...

Looks mighty nice though

Love the way that ES looks. Can't wait to see them driving around SoCal. I'm sure they'll sell even better than the outgoing model.

I disagree with your statement. The GS looks more sporty while this new ES looks more relax/cruiser luxury.

I saw the hybrid badge on the side, 40 MPG, possible? if it can achieve that then it will sell like hotcakes.

I'll take a look at it at the NY Car Show next week some time.
I'm not a fan of the front design or interior.I'll see if seeing it in person changes that.

Looks like it has some presence to it. Should look amazing with a nice drop and wheels.
