first 2013 ES review ..

I read in one of the many reviews that are out now, the new ES350 is something like 90 pounds lighter than the current model. Kudos to Lexus for saving weight.
I read the 0-60 time was 7.1 seconds too. When the current gen came out Lexus listed it as 6.8 or 6.9 seconds. Car & Driver and Consumer Reports showed 6.2 and 6.4 seconds in their tests. Other mags were lower than Lexus published times too. They probably understate the time a bit.

You're right actually, I did read that it was lighter...

LOL, where do you see hints of the Camry? Please point them out on the pictures and point to the area on the Camry interior where they are similar...the two interiors are totally different.
How is it better than the current interior? (remember, I also own the car with the current interior, and I obviously liked it enough to purchase it, and still like it very much. Its a sharp car)
1. I think the center stack is a big improvement over the "horseshoe" design on the current car
2. Nav screen is bigger, and higher up offering better viewing when driving down the road
3. The steering wheel is beefier, with a more attractive design
4. I think the gauges are an improvement, I've always felt the gauges on the 07-12 looked a little cheap, not quite as darkly tinted as other Lexus optitron clusters, plastic materials a little too shiny, you can see the outlines of the warning indicators when they are off, the new cluster looks higher end IMHO
5. The materials are more attractive, and the stitched leather dash is very rich. I don't care for the dash pad material on my ES, its a little too shiny, the grain is a little unnatural looking, etc. Thought the material in my previous 2003 ES was more attractive/expensive looking
6. I prefer the additional wood trim along the dash and on the doors, I miss this on mine, I think the door panels on the 07-12 look a little plain, especially in black where its not two toned
7. I think the seats on the new one are a little higher quality looking with better bolstering.
8. I REALLY like the additional space and rear legroom
9. The availability of rear side sunshades is a huge plus to me
10. 3 position driver and passenger memory instead of 2 position driver
11. I think all the switchgear and readouts look more modern, no more 1995 green backlighting, no more 1995 green digital temp readouts and clock.
11. All the additonal features, selective powertrain modes, all the new Lexus enform apps, etc
Overall, I think its a more attractive interior. Sure, the interior in my 2010 is great (I think the interior of the 2007-2009 is bland, they added a lot of nice trim in 2010 IMHO), but the car is 6 years old now and it needs to be redone. Nothing lasts forever.
Things I don't care for in the new interior:
1. The cupholder setup, I prefer a standard side by side cupholder instead of one up above the remote touch controller, and one beneath the shifter area.
2. I miss the wood trim on the console face. Its piano black there, and thats going to show scuffs and scratches REALLY bad.
3. I wish it had that nice big screen from the GS, or at least one that filled more of that hooded area. I think the passenger airbag light there to the side of the nav screen looks like an afterthought.
Thats really it. I think the car is a home run, and unless the leases are way out of whack compared to mine, one will be mine in August 2013.

That's a safety feature that will probably be standard in most cars, just a few years from now.

SW10ES - Item number 2 in your dislike list. I just received email from Lexus inviting me to drive during the ES Inspiration Tour at the end of the month. The interior photo clearly shows a beautiful wood panel above the glove box and in front of the driver. This wood strip continues on each front door. Looks GREAT!
