So I'm at the Henry hotel in Dearborn, MI on business and there are 11-12 Lexus sitting out front. I thought it looked cool so I took a picture, sitting in the bar I was talking to someone who works for Lexus and they have an event tomorow showing a new Lexus hybrid GS and some other new GS models.

I'm not familiar enough to know if they're being shown for the first time or if there is anything different about them, but this is the picture I got in the daytime.

Im leaving tomorrow morning so If anyone wants pictures of a certain one or parts up close let me know.

I'm not sure if Lexus has any offices nearby, but the Ford HQ is about 100 yards from here.

If this isn't anything new and its just a media event then sorry for the thread!

Thanks for posting. I'll be staying there next week, so hopefully they will still be there. I see the new ES in the lineup. I'd love to check it out.

It's hard to tell because the resolution is low when you zoom in, but it looks like the F Sport model front grill looks different. More like the LF-GH concept with the front bumper merged with the grill. Again its hard to tell, the bumper could be hiidden in the shadows. http://www.carsbase.com/photo/Lexus-..._pic_79865.jpg

HA! Those are not GS! They are all the new 2013 Lexus ES coming to dealers this month. I was notified of this by my local dealer Meade Lexus.

Yeah this is the 2013 ES. Those are prototype ES that you are seeing. It's a short lead media event being held for the local press in the area.

Humorous that the event is being held at a Ford Land Development property.

BTW, the Toyota Technical Center facilities are located less than a half hour west in and around Ann Arbor.

According my dealer the ES won't be out until August, this must be some kind of media event/promotion Lexus is having there. I know that area well. It's the Motor City/Dearborn and there are kinds of different cars that come to the city for press and promotion. I will say that there are some tough car reviewers there, but some are fair and balanced in their critiques. The above Free Pres link from caddyowner is a nice read. Thanks

Here is a link from Automotive News about the above Free Press article on the ES. One thing that really surprised me is that the narrator compared the ES with the Mercedes E class in terms of size, engine and equipment. No doubt the 2013 ES has scaled way beyond it's competitors. I think this car is going to be a knockout in person!!
