Default Our First 2013 ES!!

Our Dealerships First 2013 ES! It just came in on the truck 2 minutes ago. It looks so nice in person, better than the pictures. It is equipped with pre collision, blind spot, auto trunk, it is truly a great car

I like it. If they just would have transferred the square type exhaust extensions from the LS, it would make me go nuts!

You may see that type exhaust extensions on the 3 year refresh model.

That would be the logical time for them to potentially make a change like that. Like with the 2010's and all of the exterior and interior trim changes they made with that refresh.

We drove it this past Saturday at the Inspiration Tour in Grand Prairie TX. It was a close circuit, so it was hard to compare it with out 2010. It looks much nicer inside. What really got me was the additional rear leg room this car has.

I just had a chance to drive it. It is fantastic. It drives so nice, like a mix between the previous ES and the new GS. The interior is so much improved. I love how they shaped the wood trim and gave it some character. Such a comfortable ride, quiet, powerful, and it got so many looks. This is a winner.

LexusNN, thanks for the pictures and write up. I sounds like the new ES is making its way to dealerships now. Do you suppose dealers in the Chicago area would be receiving theirs now too. Just curious, I might drive by the one near me to see if they have one in yet. Thanks.

Is that the owner's manual package sitting on the trunk? Wow, I've seen service manuals that were not that big. Nice car though, I drive through my dealers back lot daily right now but haven't seen one arrive yet.

Well, in the short drive I had last Saturday, I found the steering to be too soft and devoid of road feel. We changed the setting to "Sport" and I didn't notice any change.

To me, that's been a failure on both the '97 GS350 and the present '10 ES350. It reminds me of American cars of years ago, where they used the "steering with one finger" as a sales ploy in TV commercials. However, both my wife and daughter-in-law like that type of steering.

As far as "looks" I really like the new car, except for the ugly snout. But, even then, I found myself "warming" to that.

Thanks for the pics, LexusNN, can't wait to check it out in person and do a test drive. I didn't think they were arriving until near the end of August. Maybe they have some the ATL area now.

Well, I went and drove the brand new Cadillac XTS. I now have to make choice between the 2013 ES 350 and the Cadillac. The Cadillac is probably a bit more expensive, right now. The fully loaded Luxury model had an MSRP of $53,000. I expect by February I will be able to find the XTS with generous discounts.

Overall, I found the interior much better than the ES. The short drive I took did not allow me to fully evaluate the car. But i found the car extremely comfortable, and the CUE is, in one short word, AMAZING! Welcome to the 21st century.

Here is a short review by Dallas/Ft Worth car guru Ed Wallace on his Friday TV spot:

Ed Wallace - Cadillac XTS
Cadillac has a new 2013 version of its XTS luxury sedan -- so what's going to happen to the old-school Caddy lovers? Ed has an idea.
