Saw/sat in my first 2013!

I got a close look at the new ES350 today while visiting the dealer for service.
My first reaction was this is the best looking ES ever. It's more luxurious and a little edgy thanks to the spindle grill and some styling creases at the rear. It was similar to the new 4GS though not as edgy as that car. I actually think it looks better than the 4GS. The front is much better styled flows better with the rest of the car. The rear lights also are styled better than the 4GS imo.
I was really pleased with the interior. It's much more luxurious and unless I'm crazy, it has a little more legroom than the last ES I sat in. I was very comfy in this car. The materials felt so nice to the touch. This does not feel like an entry level luxury car. It felt like a car costing more than it does.
Interesting thing happened while I was there.
The new ES was parked right next to a 2012 ES. 3 ladies were there to buy a car. The salesman told the ladies about the differences between the 2 cars and the improvements of the 2013.
The 2012 ES had a rear spoiler on it. The lady who was going to be driving the car actually liked that spoiler and kept looking at it. The lady who was buying the car didn't think the spoiler was a big deal but she wasn't the one who would be driving the car. The salesman told the ladies he would sell the 2013 for the same price as the 2012. To my surprise they still chose the 2012 because of that spoiler. Couldn't believe it. Still don't.
I really liked what I saw and felt sitting in the 2013 ES350 and I will recommend it to my mom who wants a new car.

Cool thread.
Partly because it involves a few posters who have been helpful to me in other threads (@SW17LS, @LexBob2).
And partly because I had a 2013 ES.
It seems that @SW17LS changed names, from @SW10ES? I didn't know someone could change names.
There's also a discussion on the exhaust pipe. Can someone post a picture of the exhaust pipe on the ES and then what they wish it would look like?
@SW17LS, so it appears you bought a GS in 2013, instead of a ES. What factors contributed to that decision?

Yeah you can request a change in your username once per year. Theres a thread in the feedback forum where you make your request and they'll take care of it.
Once I spent some time with the 2013 ES some of the material changes they made on the interior bothered me, the removal of soft touch materials on the lower doors and dash, console sides, etc. The removal of the wood trim from the console and the window switch plates. Because of lease deals at the time a $60k luxury GS was only about $75 more a month than a UL ES350 with a much better interior, so I went with that. They addressed most of my concerns in the 2016 refresh of the ES.
