Default emergency trunk release safety problem

wow i didnt know that the ES and GS has this kind of bad design. i mean comon why would they have this kind of pull design. Its obvious its going to break if one pulls down.

well it looks like LExus is going to fix this issue with plastic release with a stronger polypropylene latch. good eye consumers reports.

Kudos to the **** retentives at Consumer Reports
Seriously though, makes me trust their opinion on the big things when they take the time to test the entire car to find items like this.

Consumer Reports sometimes makes dumb comments and stupid recommendations, like rating the Chrysler 300 over the ES350/300h. I wouldn't always trust their judgement.

I agree but I do trust their safety recommendations and the annual buyers guide for vehicle reliability which is based on actual members reports of issues on the annual questionnaire.
