Thumbs down iPod Integration Problem

I have a new ES350 loaded. I have always kept a 160 gig iPod in my prior 2008 BMW to listen to when I want. Never had a big problem, but browsing 20,000 songs was a pain as I would have to scroll down using the selection wheel. I assume a 2013 model of ANY car would eclipse this and make it easy. In the new car, the iPod seems to disconnect at random and turn the Audio Off. When I reselect it (and sometimes it doesn't even show up), it goes back to the very first song on the iPod and loses my place completely (i.e., it is not right back on the same Playlist I had been listening to). Also, the iPod seems to perpetually get stuck in the mode where it is playing, but no function works - just give the message that it is Collecting Data From The iPod. I wonder if the car is indexing the entire iPod, and that it might take some time before it gets done, however I have at least 20 hours of driving time under my belt and the same problems are occurring. Does anyone have this problem? Can anyone help me understand how the Lexus indexes a somewhat larger collection of music (about 20,000 songs). Also, when I try to do any music voice commends, the Lexus tells me it is Preparing the iPod for Voice Response. I have tried changing the cable, and also have ensured the iPod is running the most updated Firmware. Any help or insight would be appreciated. Thanks.

Just trim your library and buy a 64gb USB flash drive on Black Friday. Organize using folders instead of iTunes.

iTunes slows my computer down anyway, can't wait to get rid of it.

Mattm1, I am having the same problem and it is driving me crazy! My 05 Escalde had no problem at all so I agree a 2103 Lexus should not have this issue. I do believe it has to do with the size of the library on the device because when I switched to my IPAD which only has two playlists I did not have the same issue.

Default Samsung player/ipod nano and 32gb USB drive experiance

I tried the Samsung (4.2 model) and the new 7th gen Ipod Nano (16gb) . The Samsung does not fully integrate with the radio. The Nano fully integrates with the radio by showing all songs/albums and artwork on the media screen.
The USB drive (32gb) works but the music is shown by folders and does not display artwork.

Default Do Lexus reps come here to comment?

I really hoped someone from Lexus might take on this question. It has to be quite common.
