Awesome! I just ordered a set using the CL 15% discount.

I'll be curious to see how they compare to the 2014 stock LED fogs. If there's a huge difference, I may swap out when available.

I'm sure there will be a large difference. The fogs will most likely have a projector housing to further the beam of the LED's. The LEDs that you all installed are mainly for cosmetic enhancements, not performance. As an HID fog, or even uprated halogen will far surpass the light output provided by these aftermarket LEDs

Thermo: How difficult (or easy) was removing the factory bulbs? Did you go by the manual instructions?

Bill- Here's another consideration. There are 2 LED suppliers that CL members have mentioned and used: VLED and XenonDepot. I'm not sure, but I think the VLED are 50 watts and the Xenon are 30 watts, but I don't know what the lumen outputs are.

The factory bulbs came right out after disconnecting the plug. The new ones took a few tries but if you bend the 3 tabs ever so slightly, it will make it easy to install.

Arty101: The difference in light would be minimal (assuming that the same diodes were used). These bulbs are primarily cosmetic upgrades, and we have found that the pros of staying with the lower wattage LED bulbs outweigh the cons (heat).

Steve- so the LEDs on the fog are more cosmetic and less useful? Does that mean the halogen are brighter and actually throw out more light? Hum, more to ponder.

That's correct the XenonDepot LED bulbs are rated at 725 lumens whereas most 55w halogen bulbs are in the 900-1000 lumen range.

Hum, 75-80% of 55 watt halogen bulbs. Definitely not as bright. Then again, perhaps the other LEDs at 50 watts may produce lumens closer to the 55 watt halogens? Again, I somewhat understand the design and heat issues of LED lamps being more complicated than bulbs and some of the differences from one company to another.

I'm buying for purely cosmetic reasons. I refuse to turn them on, now. Way too much of a color mismatch with the stock fogs and HID's.

I don't turn on my fogs for the same reason, but I do want them to perform and not strictly for cosmetics.

Mike728: Than you'd be perfectly fine with the LED bulbs for you fog lights!

Arty101: If light output is a concern, have you considered going with an HID kit? If not from the feedback we received most people are overall happy with the results they get from the LED fog light bulbs.
