If you can, post a photo of the rears when you put them on. I don't think anyone has done the rears yet and I'm curious as to how they'll look.

Since there seems to be trepidation about drilling holes to install rear mud flaps on ES cars .... I have installed OEM Toyota/Lexus mud flaps on two Lexus LS400's. Drilling was required on both cars to install the rear ones. The official Toyota/Lexus instructions specified exactly which drill bit size to use.

I recommend not painting mud flaps to match a car's body color. Mud flaps are flexible and paint can crack and fall off even if the appropriate "flex agent" is added to the paint. Black mud flaps look best over the long haul - what color is road tar?

I have a Starfire Pearle white and left mine unpainted.

There is the picture from the ebay listing showing the rears mounted. I have touch up paint left over from my white Honda to coat the holes drilled if/when I do it.

Is your car painted Satin Cashmere? What size drill bit did you use? The guards look good.

Yes it is cashmere color.
Yes I used an awl, heated it over gas stove, placed the splash guard on the fender, and gently pushed the awl through the screw holes of the splash guard. That is it! It works perfectly.

I didn't even place the rear splash guard on the wheel well yet. Sounds like the screws go into the plastic and not the metal part of the wheel lip. No drilling into the metal

So if I'm correct, you're saying that the area where the mudguard would be attached is plastic - not part of the metal quarter panel. Here all along I thought it was metal and would be a rust problem if drilled. Shame on me. No such problem if plastic.

It warmed up this weekend and I installed the rear guards.

I removed the existing bolt on the bottom of the wheel well and mounted the guard using the existing bolt. The other two holes in the guard lined up over metal, I used a small drill and made new holes above and between the existing ones to avoid the metal. I used the supplied screws and attached them. You can get your hand behind the plastic wheel well liner to press against it when running the screws in. If they ever work loose I'm going to through bolt them with a flat washer and nut.

Sorry no pics, they look and fit great.

Since it was warm I was able to put a coat of wax on finally. I don't like those clear patches around the lower rear wheel well, still thinking of removing them

There's no reason for you to keep them now with your mud guards installed . Have at it with a hot blower and tell us how it looks.

What do you guys think about using a body color matched spray paint on the splash guards? It might be a cheaper alternative than getting a body shop to paint the splash guards. Here's something I found that is color matched to the body:

Let me know your thoughts. Thanks.

Just received my splash guards from Japan. They come pre painted the body paint color. They are oem from Lexus/Toyota. Not sure why they don't sell them over here. Ordered them on April 26 and received them May 5. Fronts just bolt/screw on. Backs look like 2 holes may need to be drilled on each.
Bought them from this link:

Those mud flaps are also $294.99 for front and rear plus $46.00 shipping!. I bought a set back in 2013 for $40.00 with free shipping for my ES. They were not painted the vehicle color. They mounted perfectly and have been on for almost 3 years.
