Default Can dealer install optional HID?

me and my wife thinking purchase the Es 350 premium package, but the option doesn't seem to come with HID ( need for wife to drive at night) is there anyway I could get the hid option without paying ultra luxury package?

From what I know, the HID option is not listed as a port installed option. That means it has to be installed at the factory and cannot be installed at the dealer. That said, you can always go the aftermarket route.

do not go to the STEALER-ship and have them install HID's. It'll cost a fortune.

The projectors in these cars are pretty damn good. I did not want Nav and every car my dealer had with HID's had Nav. I had an old Digital H11 kit and slapped it in. Took me 5 minutes and the cut off is pretty darn sharp.
In short can they? Sure. Is it cost prohibitive? No.

And since it appears that the factory HIDs don't have auto leveling, the after market HID kits may be just as good and cheaper.

I gotta say, these HID's are worthless as they do not auto-level and they don't swivel around turns. I say just purchase an HID kit from DDM Tuning as someone said, these projectors are excellent.

"these HID's are worthless"

The HIDs in the 2013 are just as good (illumination wise) as previous ES models, they just don't auto-level or swivel (almost useless features but certainly nice to have), but they definitely light up the road extremely well and better than just about any other vehicle you can drive. Keep in mind that aftermarket HIDs will not swivel or auto-level either.

Going from a previous ES with them to my current on\e without the feature, this is one feature I really don't miss because the 2013s are soooooo brite!

I am guessing that the last of this one option would not be a deal breaker for anyone interested in owning this vehicle.

I don't think they've ever been standard for the ES series, just like the RX. But for $500, it's not too painful either.

I have driven the previous ES, when I got a loaner and those lights were adaptive, I thought they were standard on the ES.

When I was ordering my ES300h UL I learned that Costco was allowing dealers to charge over a $1,000 over invoice. If you want to go the "haggle free" route use truecar.com. You can also negotiate that number when you are at the dealer. I was offered over $1,000 below invoice if I purchased their existing inventory. I did not accept that deal because I knew I would regret it if I did not get what I truly wanted. Run the numbers with the premium package and Costco price, and then compare it against the luxury package and truecar price. Keep in mind you can negotiate the truecar.com price and that might make the Luxury package more affordable. If the numbers make sense, get the factory installed HID lights.

I almost bought a CT200h at Longo but they would not work with me on the price. This was a good thing because that convinced me to pay a bit more for trunk space and roomier interior.
