You are correct. Just hold the cursor off-center and it will move which ever direction. Just that I'm not use to how it moves with the cursor. I guess that's a good reason for not allowing it to change while the car is moving.

Arty, I misunderstood you. When you said "pull the map" I thought you meant hold and drag like using a mouse to pan a map on my computer.

And I sure thought I did click and recenter when the car was moving, but I have slept since then so my memory is not so good..

Nope you got it right. You need to hold the button down, and point/drag the cursor off-center, and the map will drag. But only if the car is stopped. I guess I wasn't too clear.
