Electrochromic Rear View Mirror with Digital Compass in Canada
#17
That is great compasses....LOL.... The first compass would not look that great in the car... and the I phone a distraction.... The way I look at it the compass was on my test drive vehicle as I went yesterday to the dealership and checked and that was the only 300H on the lot as it still was not sold. If it is a standard feature it should be their, GPS is one feature a compass on the mirror is another. I know my sales person never informed me get GPS and no compass on the mirror. It is not a deal breaker but nice to know same as no sun glass holder “really” Lexus to expense for a luxury car company...my wife’s Hyundai GT had a Sun Glass Holder no offence to anyone just speaking about the cost of vehicles. Also on Lexus Boucher if you get the Navigation Package you get heated wood-trimmed steering wheel well I do not know about anyone else but the wood trim of my steering wheel is not heated, just at the 9 and 3 O'clock of the steering wheel where the leather is. I did not realize till I needed the heated steering wheel a week after purchasing the vehicle. Before my Acura I had a BMW X5 and the steering was heated as indicated not like the false advertise Lexus has indicated. Sorry if I sound a little negative First Lexus and I am not very impressed especially the Mark Levinson System as in another Thread.

Sometime the consumer needs to stand up and make a statement and fight for their rights, the principle is really my main concern Lexus has the digital compass on the rear view mirror as a standard feature I expect that unless their is something stating differently and Lexus does not. The rear view mirror compass is not part of the GPS system they are two separate options, and Lexus does not have any where in their brochures if you get GPS no compass on mirror when I purchase the car the sales person never indicated that as well. (maybe Lexus needs to learn from Hyndai how to admit to a mistake and fix it..."now that is service") I am talking about the fuel consumption issue.

I have the ES brochure and can't seem to find any reference to a mirror compass. A compass has been added to the nav screen anyway which kind of makes the mirror compass redundant (although I agree it would have been nice to have).
In any case, we all had the opportunity to check the vehicle out prior to purchase. I doubt that anyone here would have not taken delivery of the vehicle because it did not have a mirror compass.
For well under $50, you can easily add an attractive electronic compass to the vehicle.

I agree it is not a deal breaker but my test drive vehicle had it, yes it did not have Nav but I was not informed otherwise. On the Canadian site it does indicate rearview mirror compass and no indication of not getting this if you get Nav. Yes, a $50.00 dollar option why should I spend it when it should of came with the vehicle, it is not just the money but the principal of the matter. That is why companies like Lexus get away with things like this, we shrug are shoulder and say, not a big deal it''s just a couple of bucks. The link is on page 1 of this thread if you would like to view it Elliot.

Wow Elliot, do you work for Lexus? If not you should... So if you bought an ES and piad for a Mark Levinson system 15 speaker but ony got the standard 8 speakers but the system said Mark Levinson you would be okay as long as they showed you the disclaimer??? ... Their web site refers to standard feature the vehicle comes with not maybe... But thanks for the link
