Just thought of another one. Allow the trunk to close with the key fob. I have the auto close feature with the button in the trunk, but why can't I close it with the button on the key fob, too? This should not be hard to implement.

But do you have the powered trunk opener as well? Seriously, I think this is just Lexus trying to limit liability. Even though there's already pinch detection when automatically closing, I'm sure some lawyer put a kibosh on the idea of being able to close via remote. The other Lexus vehicles I've been in which had the powered trunk closer also did not allow for this -- RX and LS (the GS and IS do not have this available as part of any package, maybe cost-cutting maybe it would ruin their sports cred who knows)

I doubt they'll ever add close by remote, or if they do-- would be the same time they allow nav input while driving

I have a feeling too that it's for liability reasons. Just like you can open all the window with the remote but can't close them with the remote.

Yes, I have it. There's a button in the trunk you can use to close it. I don't think it has the force of a trash compactor.

I've been in Lincolns that have this feature.

Yes. It's a feature that's disabled from the factory. You have to take it to your dealer and have them hook up the Techstream laptop to enable it. This thread has a link to the Personalized settings PDF:

"fix the shameful cheap interior" Step up and buy a GS or an LS.

In fact, many of the features in the poll are either already available in Lexus' GS and/or LS line of vehicles or just not available at all and likely won't be at all in the very near future.

The ES is after all an entry level vehicle, even though it is a Lexus.

And it is not like any of us buyers did not have a chance to inspect the vehicle prior to purchase. No one forced anyone to buy one.

A lot offer you way more for your buck. Just look at the Hyundai Azera. You can pick up a fully loaded Azera, which comes with everything found in the ES and more, including the panoramic sunroof, for around $33k. There's more to it than just bang for your buck. Reliability still ranks high on buyer's lists. That takes time to build and instill in people's minds. The competition is starting to make progress in this direction, which is good for all of us (consumers).
This leads me to your next statement of Lexus and Toyota getting "cocky". If you mean, reducing costs in certain areas, it's kind of a reaction to the above. They need to stay competitive in this economy.
