My new car with some small mods...
Thanks to all who contribute advice & pics to this forum. It was and will continue to be a great resource to me and many others. I thought that I would show what I have done so that it might help others and show how my ride has been slightly modified. Here is what I purchased and what I have done post purchase:
I ended up getting an Obsidian(black)/black NuLuxe non Nav 300h. I wanted Leather heated/cooled and no Nav but no one within 1000 miles of here in MN orders cars that way for their dealership (makes zero sense to me). The extra $200 makes a ton of sense to me for the Leather but I have been pleased with the NuLuxe so far. The Nav was not so impressive to me and was kind of annoying vs other Nav systems that I have seen on other cars so I thought that I would save the roughly $2k. So far all is great. The only mod I did off the showroom floor was to remove the es300h letters off of the back of the trunk. That is the first pic.
2nd pic is of the 2nd mod made. I added some 18" Axis wheels (Xfactor in Matte Graphite) with Michelin Primacy rubber. I first saw these wheels at the local dealership as a sales manager had them on his white es demo. I then sourced them and purchased them thru the dealership as they will store your winter tires if you purchase them from them (my wife does not love us having 4 wheels at the house and I hated lugging them to/from the tire place to get them swapped out 2x/year. For those that will ask I have noticed no rougher or smoother ride and the gas mileage is virtually the same with a small sample size in each case. I will use the original wheels for winter driving.
3rd pic is of the legal tint (no need with a black interior to go any darker in MN) along with a 3M Venture Shield 18" up the hood + partial fender and mirrors along with the full bumper. I also added a strip where the back bumper is flat outside of the trunk.
The only other mods or additions I am planning to do or look at is some floor mats and possibly the body side moldings.
Thanks to all for contributing to this great resource!
