Ventilated Seats
I recently purchased a 2013 ES350 with ventilated seats. The heated feature works great, but the cooling feature does not feel like it is circulating air. From time to time the seat vibrates when I turn it to cool, which is not pleasant. When I test drove the car, my salesman said that was normal. He had the service department check it out before I bought it. I'm guessing I will have them check it again during the first service.
I had an '08 Avalon with ventilated seats and it worked flawlessly. I was expecting the same from Lexus.

Thought I would resurrect this old thread.....I am one of the posters who believes the ventilated seats are worthless (and I don't expect cool air, just air flow). Took wife's 300h in for 20k service yesterday morning and got a 350 loaner. On the way to the office I turned the ventilated seats on and actually felt air. When I got back to the office I called and asked that they check the seats one more time.
On my work order the tech says "strap for seat bottom crushing vent tube, repositioned seat bottom cover." When I went to pick up the car I happened to see one of their senior service techs who had spent some time with me last year on this issue, and he said that the main problem is the foam cushion in the seat. Apparently there is now an alternative foam cushion that they are going to order, and I will be called when it comes in. The senior tech said that just the seat cover repositioning won't help much. With the repositioning of the seat I can hear more air blowing, but no real improvement in feeling air flow. I will update when new foam installed.

Heated/Ventilated Seats
I think the cool air through the seat ventilation openings contributed to my increasing the thermostat setting when I was getting used to my 2014 ES350. I am curious to see how well the heat function works compared to the electric seat heating I experienced on my last car.
