Default is it possible to negotiate free oil changes?

I had a friend who was able to negotiate a year of free oil change for his honda. are free oil changes seen in lexus deals? where do u guys get all ur oil changes? i've read about people going to toyota dealerships for that. nothing beats the $14.99 toyota specials. ;-) would it affect warranty?

The engine in the 2013 ES350 is the same as the Avalon. It uses the same oil filter. I see no reason that one couldn't use a Toyota dealer to change the oil in their Lexus. Regarding warranty coverage, as long as you kept the record of each change I see no issues. I don't know about a free year of changes as the lexus only gets one a year anyway except for those with excessive mileage.... So it's really not a big deal.

Lex - with all due respect, and I'm not saying its not possible, but I'm not sure too many consumers shopping for a Lexus try to negotiate free oil changes. Lexus provides the first oil change free. In the last few years, Toyota and Lexus have specified full synthetic oil for their vehicles. Synthetic oil is not on the least expensive part of the oil price scale. ES350s take approximately 6.5 quarts per oil change. If you do it yourself, the oil will cost around $35-$50 depending on the brand you purchase plus the cost of the filter. If you use a Lexus dealer, most likely the cost will be anywhere between $85-$125. I personally prefer buying the oil/filter and having my trusted independent mechanic who specializes in Hondas and Toyota/Lexus do the work for a very reasonable amount. In the end, I think you would be better off negotiating a better overall deal rather than focus on the gimmicky free oil change thing.

Some dealers might do this as a promotion. I got 2 years of free oil changes when I bought our CPO RX 450h at Parker Lexus in Little Rock.
