Yep IDK why they didn't use that size either? Must have been gear ratios or gas milage or something? The other tire is just stupid small for that big ole body car. 245/45/18 grips way better, rides better, handels better and feels better. Forget the sidewall being higher, the car handles curves better with the 245/45/18 Too!
In addition to running up slower less miles on the odometer. And now the Speedo is more accurate.

Ah not sure that's true. All my other cars I have had were very accurate. In fact a few car manufactures were Sued a few years ago for have odometers and speedo that were actually going faster than they should. The suit was based on inaccurate excess lease miles and warranty coverage expiring faster than it should have.

Etc etc. it is international law in many countries.

the miles are accurate. But the speedo is over by 2-3 km/h on all my cars. I have very accurate gps that measures acceleration and lap times.

Every car I have checked except the ES350 has been accurate.

Just giving my own personal experience. So even from tire maker to tire make the diameter can be different on same sizes. There is also a variable of the tread depth being at 12/32's or 3/32's. I'm just saying what I found on cars I measures with different GPS devices.
THe ES350 I had was off further than any other car I have ever checked. Also most car nowadays in most cases, the speedometer and odometer run off the same distance sensor

GS 350 Wheels on 2014 ES 350
Hey. Been doing some searching and can’t seem to find the answer to this question.
Will the 2007-2011 18x8 GS 350, 5 spoke wheel will fit on my 2014 Lexus ES 350. Will it clear brakes/shocks. My tire is 17x7 oem offset +40 and the gs 350 is 18x8 +45 offset. If anyone knows the answer please help me out. I have never seen these on an ES either. Any pics would be welcomed.
I always liked these wheels and wanted to do 20s but don’t want to commit to lowering springs and upgraded SBar links. Negative ride quality and rubbing. Think it’s just smarter to go with the oem 18s over looks. What y’all think?
The 20s are ferrada FR3 20x9 (Can get these with tires 255/35R20 for cheap from a friend. Or new 19x8.5 but worried about price ($3K). Idk. Just kinda want a oem look and more importantly…drive. Lmk any suggestions.

If your specs for the GS rims are correct, you will have no problem - should be 'plug & play', bolt pattern, spacing & center hubs are identical.
I recently swapped out the 17" stock rims on my 2017 ES for OEM G-Spider 18 x 8" rims and had no issues with rubbing or clearing the brakes/suspension.
On the advice of others in this thread, I also went +2 sizes over stock by going with 245 45 18 tires, again no issues with rubbing or bottoming out.
My new wheel/tire combo is only 2.5 lbs heavier than the stock setup, but now ride on 18s with a much wider tire which greatly enhances grip, steering & overall road feel. Knowing what I know now, I should've done this since day one . . .

New look!
New 20x9 FERRADA FR3
35 Offset
Wrapped in 255/35/20 Toyo Extensa HP2
Was worried about 255/35 but they went on with no modification needed. No scrub or rub.

Getting Silvers coilovers today but wondering how much I can drop it without hitting the fender lining? Only wanna drop it about 1 inch. Nothing crazy. It’s my daily. Plus I have 255 on there so I don’t really have any other ES’s with that tire to compare the ride with. We’ll see. Not installing till around spring tho. Just got the wheels but only keeping them on till Monday and then hibernate em’ till April.
You guys think it needs a drop? Opinions are welcome.
