Default The blue light above speedometer

Tonight I noticed while driving in Eco every time I pressed the gas the blue light got dimmer, then when switched to sport that wasn't happening with the red light. Back to Eco, same and then switched to normal mode and it was dimming even more when driving and when increased speed the light got dimmer. Anyone else notice this?

The blue glow in the instrument panel is there as a rough guide to your fuel efficiency: the more fuel you're using, the darker it gets, while better fuel efficiency gives you a brighter glow. This can be changed via the Lexus Personalized Settings for the car so that it is just a constant glow if this bothers you

Thanks for your feedback. I understand thats what the blue light is for, but why is it constant when the sport mode is on? the red does not dim or fluctuate at all.

Could be because it is assumed you are not interested in fuel efficiency at all while in sport mode or as a constant reminder that you are in sport mode as opposed to a mode where fuel efficiency is of concern, i.e. eco or normal.

I believe it says so in the manual - red stays constant. It doesn't get brighter for aggressive driving

Thanks for the heads up!!! After two months in my ES300h and 3000 miles, I had never noticed that the blue light fades as the MPG diminishes.

The blue light dimming was the first thing I noticed, next to the red light in Sport mode. As the previous post said, too bad the red light doesn't get brighter with more throttle, but that would defeat the purpose of higher FE.
