A Comment about Lexus Dealers
I just wanted to make a general comment for whatever it's worth about Lexus Dealers.
I live in the Greater Boston area and we have 5 Lexus dealers ( I think that's all) in the area. I'm on my 3rd ES350 ( 2007, 2010, which we still have, and my new 2013) purchased from 3 different Lexus shops. My current selling dealer has been taking care of 2010 ( purchased elsewhere) for 2.5 years. I found a service writer that is nothing short of fantastic. He treats me incredibly well, returns my phone calls, answers any of my questions, etc. I have complete total 100% respect and trust for him. I wound up with a good deal for my situation on the new car and only dealt with this one dealership because of the relationship with the service writer.
The salesman, the sales manager, and the delivering fill in salesman ( my guy was away on vacation) have all left something to be desired. But the service guy continues to be great.
What I'm trying to point out is that it was worth a little bit more $$ to me to buy where my service guy works. Lexus corporate was very good to me with my 2010 when I had nothing but trouble with the selling dealer ( the largest in the market). They explained that the dealers were really on their own to do or not to do what was necessary to keep a customer happy. When the dealer didn't corporate stepped right up and made things right for me.
For me having the service guy that I have 110% trust in is worth everything.

I had a different Service Department experience than the OP with my 2007 and 2010 ES350. My experiences were good too, just different.
Neither car required any warranty or service bulletin work as long as I owned them so I never did establish any relationships with the service departments of the two dealerships that I bought from.
I'd take the cars in for routine service as needed and would go to either dealership if one had a service special or was more convenient etc.
Both instances reflect positive service experiences from the big L.

My service advisor that I've been with since 1999 when I had my first Lexus serviced (typically while under warranty) is exceptional. He took care of a couple of things not covered under warranty too. But as I was purchasing my current 300h, I was presented a maintenance plan by the Finance person. I got the 411 from my SA and could get the same maintenance plan cheaper by bringing it in (inflation or rise in costs notwithstanding). He also said that they are offering 3 service packages now, and for me to get just the basic. Now thats being pretty honest .
