Tire rotation to include spare?

![Question](https://www.clublexus.com/forums/images/icons/icon5.gif)
I have a full-size spare tire complete with TPMS. The four tires, based on the TPMS, are at 230 kpa (~33 psi) and the spare is at 300 kpa (~44 psi)...yes, my vehicle is using the metric system on the tire pressure, but US/imperial on others
.
I'm puzzled as to why the spare is kept at a much higher pressure when all 5 wheels and tires (Michellin Primacy) are identical.
Should I be including the 5th tire into the rotation schedule?
And should I reduce the "spare" tire's pressure to 33 psi?

Change your readout to read psi.
My take on the higher reading for the spare is that it sits in the trunk waiting to be used
if needed. Thus it is storage pressure.
Today's tire rotations don't use the spare tire as in the past. Usually nobody has
a full spare tire.
Check the spare every few months to make sure it is ready if needed.

To change to US<>Metrics, hit the display button on the steering wheel, and go through the display to settings or similar. I believe that's where you can change the tires to psi.
Also, I agree with John. Typically they keep a higher psi for the spare, and I wouldn't rotate it out.

By all means use the spare in the rotation every 5,000 miles. At 50k miles every tire will have 40k on it, right?
No sense having an aged overinflated tire that may not match the next generation of replacement tires you buy.
The miles/kilometer switch is in setup under "units"
