2 small issues can't figure out: maps (b & w) & radio echo
Haven't driven the 2013 ES 350 very much yet but my Nav map has suddenly turned to black and white instead of the initial multiple colors, even during the day. What happened ... can't seem to find on the system how to revert back without going thru 900+ page book. Also, the map is showing some roads/hwys. with tiny circles (attached to each other) instead of the previous thick lines - can anyone help?
Re: radio, don't have the XM service but when listening to std. issue radio, sometimes and lasting maybe for 8-10 seconds or so, the radio suddenly sounds very "echoey" and more emphasized, it seems, from the back speakers. Then it reverts back to "normal" - only to do it again within the same 20 min. drive-time. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks so much.

Go to Menu/Display (upper right corner) and check your settings. You canl toggle between Camera and Screen and both can be modified for both Contrast and Brightness. Sounds as if yours has been inadvertently tweeked.
Camera might need to be changed if you commonly back into low angle sunlight and wanted to reduce lens flare. Be aware that the Auto setting for the Headlights does affect the display at night. If you prefer to leave the main light switch On full time to have your taillights and low beams on constantly it also affects the screen.
The connect the dots appearance sounds like "Route Trace". Go to the bottom of the map and click on "Show on Map" (If it isn't there, click on 'On' to restore the map tools) Now you will see Route Trace and it will likely show a yellow status bar. Click to turn it off and answer that you do not want to save the last trace. Cool tool for reviewing a days journey in a new place, "Hey Honey, haven't we been here before?"
The radio is trying to process HD signals and you are driving in and out of nodes. Either turn off the HD radio button at the bottom of the Radio screen or go to Options and tell it to only use Analog Stations. The echo will be emphasized when you have the Surround Sound feature turned on. Check by going to Sound in the lower right corner of the Radio page.
