well it seems the more I drive my car on the highway, the better the overall mileage gets... My son lives about 150 miles from here and the first time I drove to his house the on board computer said we were averaging approx. 28.0 mpg.... and I was fine with that.... but the last two times we've been down there it reads 30.1 mpg..... and that's driving 75 mph with the a/c on.. Can't complain about that!

Outside wind speed plays a big part for me too on the highway. If I'm driving into a headwind or have a strong side-wind, my mileage is noticeably reduced and the reverse is true if I have a tailwind. I drove to San Antonio from Houston (east to west) last weekend with a 25 mph wind from the north and I barely got 35 mph on that trip. I have gotten upward of 43 mph when the wind was from behind.
