I have a 2017 ES350 and cannot auto-lock the doors. The 2016 should be the same.

I have another vehicle with auto lock (2017 Cadillac XT5) so I am aware of what the OP was seeking. The doors automatically lock as long as the key fob isn't within a certain distance of the vehicle (about 10' or so). The horn gives a single audible tone when the doors lock (or multiple tones if the fob is left inside).

No, that is not correct. Enform Remote has been available on various Lexus models for several years. For the ES, it has been available since, I think, the 2015 model year; however, it does require a paid subscription to be able to use it. The first year after the purchase of a new ES was free. After that, without a paid subscription, the service is disabled.

What is required to use this? My 2017 ES350 is not equipped with it. Is it something that can be added on or does it have to be factory installed?

I see now that you are in Canada. When I made my earlier reply, I had not noticed that.

In the US, all Generation 6 ES after the 2015 model year came with the Enform Remote hardware, but that hardware is operational only for those that have an active (paid) Enform Remote subscription.

I have no idea whether the situation is the same or different in Canada. If you call a Lexus dealer and speak with its tech specialist, he/she should be able to tell you whether ES vehicles sold in Canada were equipped with the Enform Remote hardware. Also, I know that there are a few ES owners from Canada who participate regularly here on CL. Perhaps, one of them will post with more information.

I also know that there are some here who have had 3rd party aftermarket remote start systems added to their cars.
