Default Door and Trunk Light Upgrade

My new ‘14ES door and trunk lights seemed a little weak to me so I upgraded them to LEDs this past weekend. The courtesy lights in the doors are a fairly simple swap and there are Youtube videos available to help. I used the larger Jtech LED bulbs for the doors to get nice bright lights.

The trunk light was changed from a single miniature bulb to a 20” long LED light bar from Oznium. I located the bar on a long flat area just behind the factory light so it spreads out nicely. Diode Dynamics (and probably others) make 8 and 12 LED blocks that are basically plug and play but I went with the light bar to distribute the light better. The power is wired into the original trunk light socket.

I was pleased with the results and feel those lights are now more suitable for an upscale car.

Nice.

There's a previous thread regarding the swapping of factory lighting for LED's. All interior lights, taillights, trunk lights, puddle lights, etc. I changed all of mine out. There's a vendor on Ebay that sells a package of 10 or 12 LED's for our cars. Charges around $10.00. Simply unclip the lenses and replace the bulb... Snaps right in.

I just did a search for "swapping of factory lighting for LED" in this forum and came up with this thread.
You have the link to the thread and the seller?

Check out this seller on Ebay. You require 194 wedge LED's for the car.

Here is a link to the Oznium 20" light bar I used in the trunk http://www.oznium.com/smd-bar
I couldnt find my double stick foam tape so I used silicone gasket sealer to stick the bar to the trunk sheet metal behind the existing light. Seems to be holding fine. I fabed up a short wire to extend the LED connector to the existing trunk light socket with the old bulb removed.

The courtesy lights I used are the Jtech T10 20-SMD bulbs which are slightly larger with more light output than the T10 5-SMD bulbs. Sold on Amazon and ebay.

Sorry no pics or videos yet.
