Half-way through 3 year lease and I'm bored
I am 18 months into my 36 months lease and I am so bored with the ES. Does anybody feel the same? I live in Southern California and nobody gives this car a passing glance anymore.

Well did you buy the car because you actually liked it or because you wanted people to say "WOW! What a nice expensive Lexus! I think you should trade it for a Maserati... = more glances...

go in to the lexus dealer, and drive the IS, & GS. + look at the F options.
I'm sure they will be happy to get you out of your lease and into another car.
-for a price.
or how about a new lowering spring kit and new rims and tires?

LBCDan, no worries on my end, sorry about that.
A new 2015 GS F-Sport should turn more heads than an ES.
If that doesn't do it, a used LFA would definitely cause whiplash.

I'm feeling a bit the same only in my case, I own the car. If I hadn't gotten cheap in the beginning I would have gone with the GS or LS. 2013 & beyond Lexus generation is the turning point in style/technology. There is just nothing out there better. I have resolved myself to the fact that until the higher end 2013 & newer Lexus models reach my price comfort zone I need to wait a littler longer. In a couple years I may buy a LS460, F Sport, with a few miles.

It's tough when you make a buy/lease decision which is not ideal. FWIW it happens everyday. Of course you can bite the bullet and move on, or drive it to the end.
Also, if you are looking for harsh comments, try one of the Jag or BMW boards. This site is melba toast in comparison,

I am 23 years into my 45 year sentence of marriage and I am so bored with my wife. Does anybody feel the same? I live in Alabama and nobody gives her a passing glance anymore.
The only thing that saves me is seeing my beautiful Lexus sitting in the garage, fresh and new every morning. Life is good!

I was a year in a half into my lease and my dealer offered to swap out my ES for a GS. Payment is the same and my lease still ends at the same time. No money out of pocket. I was fine with my ES but even happier with the GS.

Do you mind sharing the dealer and your lease terms on the ES and GS? This sounds like a great deal that you got.

Gotta Determine Your Priorites
I agree, the Lexus doesn't turn heads the way some other cars do. I've been a Mercedes guy for the past 18 years, and still have an SLK for my wife to play with on weekends. Mercedes are noticed and a great car to drive. However, I finally realized it was costing me, on average, about $2,000 a year (above regular maintenance) to operate the car.
So far I'm quite happy with the Lexus. And I anticipate it will cost me far less to keep on the road. It does look good, just not as flashy or admired as some others.
So... although my ego may not be stroked to the same extent as before, I'm confident that I'm driving an exceptional car that will cause me very few problems.
Life is a series of trade-offs. For me, I made the right choice.
