Changes for 2015 ES300 or 350
#17
When I was shopping for my ES300h, one dealer mentioned that the new ES would be built in America in 2015.
Here is the official press release that Toyota will build the 2015 ES350 in Georgetown, Kentucky.: http://corporatenews.pressroom.toyot...n+ky+plant.htm
It does not mention anything about the 2015 ES300h.
Even though the American car makers have improved reliability of autos made in America, I'm glad I own a car that was built in Japan that is extremely reliable.

This page announces a special edition. If you look at the equipment for the ES I would suspect they'll start to include those items in the best model now. BSM and Rain Sensing Wipers among the other items. Look here.

There is no noticeable difference in quality between the Japanese built and Canadian built RXs. In fact, RX is the most reliable vehicle according to most studies and most of them are built in North America.
This is a pretty fun read about the Canadian plant. If Lexus institutes similar policies for the ES line, I wouldn't worry.
