Electronic key battery
I noticed last night that the interior and puddle lights no longer activate when I approach the car with the electronic key in my pocket. Previously, the lights would go on when I was about 3-4 feet from the car. Starting the car is not a problem. I'm wondering if it's the battery in the key fob that needs replacing. Anyone else experience this to date?

The puddle lights (and interior illumination) only go on when you approach the vehicle if the doors are locked. Is there any chance that you were checking their operation when the doors were not locked? Even though the Lexus maintenance schedule calls for frequent checks and replacement of the fob battery, I can't it imagine that it should be needing replacement for at least a couple of years.

Well I'm pretty sure it's not the battery. I took the fob apart because I had a new battery to put into it. While doing this I pressed the alarm button - I was about 75 feet away - and the horn blared. I'll do a test tonight. Thanks for the tip...
