Default ES350 air handler issue-sounds like relay keeps clicking

My 2014 ES350 is making a constant clicking noise from under the dash. Sounds like relay going on and off. When I shut off the air handling system the clicking completely goes away. Didn't used to to that and I will bring it to the dealer for a fix but wondered if anyone has experienced the same thing?
Car is the Ultra Premium package and has about 13k miles on it.
Also, not sure if related but recently while the car was not running I noticed the car whining from rear wheel area the other night, I went back in the house and got my keys. Tried unlocking and re-locking but finally had to start the car and shut it off again the get the noise to stop. The car had been off for at least an hour or more but it sounded like fuel pump was running all by itself or some other system. I've owned 25 cars and never had that happen before.
Otherwise I love this car!

I can't help with the clicking sound but the sound that you are hearing from the rear of the vehicle after it has been turned off is likely the fuel evaporation leak check. I believe that there is some mention in the manual of this sound, which is normal and can occur at some period of time after the vehicle is hut down. If you do a search in this forum, you will find discussions about this sound in the forums for virtually all of the Lexus models, including the 2013+ ES.

Here is one thread about it from this ES forum.

air handling meaning air from the air vents? if you are you might have debris in the blower motor. you can gain access to it though the glove box. open glove box. pop out tray. pop out access panel at the rear, set climate control to re circulation and remove air cabin filter and inspect with flash light.
also open hood and see if you can spot any signs or rodent nesting in the engine bay because they go hand in hand.

Have not experienced any in dash clicking noises from my ES, but another vehicle we own clicks when the electric actuators for the A/C airflow diverters fail. The click noise is actually the plastic gears slipping as the actuator motor is running. Hopefully the Lexus dealer can identify and fix the problem.

Thanks Lesz, sounds like that I what I heard. Hadn't noticed before and just happened to be walking next to the car when it was happening. Frankly it did make me have a wtf moment.
