Start car with fob only= no monthly fee. Both systems can be installed by dealer. Both systems are factory remote start systems. It is your choice.

The explanation I received from Lexus was that it does NOT work, as the fob has to be programmed to work with the car. Since the RES is installed as a dealer add-on, you have to pay extra for the remote start. This is a 'hidden' cost for those of us who want remote start and buy the luxury option.
