well i do have a couple of thirsty guzzlers so i cant say im all on the hybrid electric platform, but within the coming years the next car that my eye is on is a Tesla. I can only imagine the fluid drive. Must be addicting.
The Mercedez E Class diesel gets 850+ miles to the tank. BMW is coming out with a ton of diesels with 700+ range. The diesels are definitely a farthest you can go on a single tank (maybe LPG) but that is only used on city vehicles here in L.A. Dont be surprised if you see natural gas cars popping up in the US soon because we have ridiculous deposits of it.

Yeah, Autocar UK did a crazy Africa-UK drive with an E-class diesel hybrid and they managed over 1000 miles on a tank. Diesels can't beat hybrids on fuel consumption in city traffic, even with a good start-stop system. I wonder why European auto journos love diesels so much when particulate emissions are still an issue. I have a diesel pickup and it's fine for hauling stuff but I'll stick with petrol engines for cars... I've ridden in 520d's and 530d's, the torque is huge but the lack of refinement still sucks.
On environmentally friendly fuels, diesel engines can use biodiesels or even recycled cooking oil, whereas petrol engines can be converted to run on natural gas or methane. Who knows, maybe 10 years from now most cars will be either EVs or plugin hybrids with small natural gas engines.

Classy combo there, I think the ES looks great from the front with the LEDs on. It looks a bit plain without the swoosh lights.
PirelliES, are you parked in between milk tankers?
I saw a robin's egg blue ES the other day, wrapped in that color. Anyone here brave enough to wrap their car?
