You mean the OEM Turanzas? Much quieter, the OEM Turanzas are terrible tires.

 

The bridgestone and dunlops rank in the mid to high 8s from a scale of 1 to 10 for comfort and noise. I would stay away from those.

You wont go wrong with either the Pirelli P7 All Season tires or the Michelin Primacy A/S, they are ranked virtually the same. Both are 9.3 - 9.4.

 

What size are your rims, 17 or 18?

 

I have a 2013 ES350. It came from the factory with Michelin Primacy MX4vs. I recently replaced them with Premieres (about 6 months ago).

The Premieres are quiet, comfortable and have great traction, both wet and dry but my highway gas mileage dropped about 10% after the change. I had been getting 30-31 mpg with the Primacys and am now getting 27-28 mpg.

At the time I ordered my Premieres from Tire Rack, the Primacys were still available.

Had two set of Primacys on a previous ES and my wife has Primacys on her IS250 AWD. The Primacys replaced Dunlop Run Flats that came with the car as original equipment. Before the Premieres, I felt that the Primacys were the best tires I had ever had.

The Premieres are good but I'm not sure they are worth the trade off in gas mileage.

That isn't surprising because the Premiere tires are not rated as highly as the Primacy MXV4 tires with regard to rolling resistance. While I have no idea how long it will continue to be the case, both the Premiere and Primacy tires continue to be available from major tire retailers.

 

I was thinking when I change I would go with the P7's anyone with those tires did you notice mpg difference from the bridgestones or primacy?

 

Tomorrow I'm getting the primacys put on. Hope they're worth the 600 bucks.
$200 credit for the Bridgstones. $70 rebate from Michelin. $598. Installed.

My new purchase, a 2013 ES300H, has the Michelin MXV4's. The dealer just put them on before my purchase so obviously no comment on tread wear but the ride is very comfortable and quiet. On my last car an Acura RL, I purchased the Pirelli P7's. I would say as nice a ride but based on specs and reviews the Pirelli's should last a lot longer. Tire rack has them rated #1. In a test based on gas mileage they beat their competitors in mpg's. The competition was other low rolling resistance tires.

 

Well, now what?
I went to get the tires and find they don't have them in 18s. They have the Michelin Primacy MXM4 not the MXV4.
So now I'm undecided. MXM4s or Pirelli P7s, or keep the Bridgstones.
Right now I'm leaning towards the Pirellis. Anyone have the MXM4s?

 

MXM4s aren't anything special and I personally would sooner try the P7s than buy another pair. They're just not on the same level as the MXV4 were. I'm lucky and they still make my size in the MXV4s, so my tire dilemma will be those or the P7. I know the MXV4 is great, just not sure if the P7 is better.

You could always buy a set of 17s and run the 215/55/17, which will give you improved comfort and a quieter ride.

 

Yes, when you think about , assuming say a 4 year lifespan, that 10% extra in gas is quite a hit (especially for me living in Canada where gas costs more than the US).

It just gets worse every day!
Went back for the Pirellis, they didn't have them in stock, has to be ordered from Dallas, ( I live in Houston ) they can have them here by Wednesday. The manager offered to put on the Michelins and let me try them out till then. I was hesitant, figuring they wanted to sell the more expensive tires. Hubby wants to take the deal so we get the Michelins put on.
I drove home and knew right away something was wrong. The car felt wobbly, for like of a better word. Almost like all the tires were a different size. I checked the tire pressure monitor and the front R tire had 57 psi, the other three had 35. We checked it manually at home and the R front was 38.
Now I don't know if they did something to the monitor or what 's wrong. I'm afraid to take it back to Discount Tire.
Guess I'll take it to Lexus Monday and hope for the best.

 

Sounds like a clueless tire shop. I would avoid them.
