Congrats on the car, a great car. BSM's tell you when a car is in the right or left lane adjacent to you, but in areas not easily seen in your side view mirror (hence a "blind spot"). When activated, an icon lights up on the affected side view mirror warning you not to drift or change lanes until it's safe.
