Default "Chime sound" help

So I am experiencing a 2 -3 second "chime" sound randomly when driving. Some times its 2 chimes, others its 3 or 4 chimes.

So far it only appears to happen when moving at low speeds. There isn't an alert on the dash board. Also it sound like bells, its not the door open sound or the seat belt warning.

I thought at first I changed the sound of an incoming email/text but when i removed my phone from the car I was still getting the odd noise.

Ideas?? Ive read through the manual and couldn't find anything. It seems to me there is a setting hidden someone where to turn this off.

Low speed sounds like parking sensor related.

I don't think its a parking sensor, this is a different sound.

Its not the "beeping" sound with the parking sensor more like bells....Its very odd.

Are you pressing a steering wheel button when this occurs?

The sound is definitely coming from the speakers. It's an alert noise (similar to a text message alert)

Buttons are not pressed on the steering wheel.

Try going to phone screen (assuming you have nav.), then messages, in the left lower corner, to see what your settings are on

Yes I have nav. I went through the phone settings, I couldn't find the exact sound, I went through the different tones for txt and email.

Try disabling your Bluetooth phone connection and see if you still get the chime. If not, then you know if phone related.

So I figured it out...turns out it was a setting in my radar detector which I had forgotten about .

Default Chiming sound specific to a particular area in addition to randomly

I have a 2014 Lexus SE 350, and every single time I reach a certain location in San Francisco's Presidio, there is a chiming sound, that I've recorded....it is not one or two chimes, but an actual tune that is coming from my car, (da da da dada da da da dada da silly, I know, but I want to make the point that it's not just an alert sound) as it occurs, even when I don't have a phone in the car. I hear the same chime at random other times, but it's consistent to this one location I referred to above. Anyone have any thoughts?

Check your navigation system settings if you have navigation. It may be set to chime near certain points of interest.

I don't see any settings that would cause there to be a sound. Furthermore, it's such an unusual sound that it's like it's not a "car sound" It sounds like a music box. I recorded it, because I will bring it to Lexus and hope they can figure it out.

Please explain further. I have a 2017 ES 350 with navigation and I hear musical chime notes now and again. What is the car trying to tell me? And what is this radar thing that you mentioned -- ?? Thank you.
